Starkki
Starkki is the name of DT Group’s Finnish operations organised as builders’ merchants and operating as the second largest distributor of building materials in Finland.
The company was established in 1868 by Peter Starckjohann as a single hardware store. In 1940, it moved to Lahti, which is, today, the current headquarters location. The brand name Starkki originated in 1995, and that single store in 1868 has now turned into a family of over 20 Starkki stores in Finland. The chain was acquired in 2000 by DT Group, and has been one of DT Group’s most effective divisions ever since.
Starkki serves professional builders, contractors and construction companies, as well as private customers and DIY builders. Starkki is, with its well-assorted product range of building supplies, timber and board products, hardware, tools and interior decoration supplies, recognised by professionals as a customer-oriented and quality-conscious chain.
Starkki also serves a considerable amount of retailers through its widespread Rautanet chain. The chain includes independent hardware, building material and timber dealers working in close partnership with Starkki.
