Private Label

Private label (also known as own brand or private brand) is basically comprised of products, which are marked with a company's own brand names. DT Group and Wolseley own several brands that are used for specific product ranges and qualities - just as supermarket chains have their own brands which are often presented to the customer next to a well-known brand name product.

Private label products can be sourced directly from a producer in China or India or from well-known European suppliers who also supplies private label products.

At DT Group we have divided our private labels into 3 levels of quality:

  • low price and basic quality
  • medium price and medium quality
  • more expensive and top quality


Our top quality or pro-products are mainly sold in our builders' merchants stores and are aimed at our professional customers. They compare well to professional brand name products. Our semi-pro brands are sold in all DT stores and are typically aimed at the DIY customer, whereas discount products are available in our DIY stores on a par with other no-name products.

Private labels are our valid alternative to well-known brands. It gives us the opportunity to offer our customers quality products that are unique to DT Group, which strengthen our competitive position in regards to both product and price. In this way, we aim to improve customer satisfaction.

Our private label products have passed strict testing requirements. We have product managers, each a specialist in his/her own field, who cooperates with our regional sourcing offices and certification agencies.

We also have a dedicated private label department, tasked with getting the products ready for market. This includes product and packaging design, user manuals in local languages, marketing photos, brochures, in-store posters and sales material, displays, etc.
